The pickups are @curtis_novak_pickups JM-HC, under our custom made Thunderbird covers and are processed through a 4-way blade switch (neck/serial/parallel/bridge) or through the Pickup LesLee®, which alternates both signals and is adjustable in speed and intensity on the upper left wheeler pots.
A pickup behind bridge and an onboard piezo disc pickup allow for additional coloring/texturing of the overall sound. The pickup behind bridge can be switched alternatively to the regular bridge pickup, making for more unique LesLee sounds, as it is only noticeable when played.
@masterybridge and vibrato and anodized aluminum plates round up the overall look. This one goes to Vienna! Good travels!

Connecting the Deimel Firestar to a modular synth gives you an entire new set of sound options! First premiered at @superbooth_berlin we are very excited about these new features:

The Deimel Firestar LesLee Synchronizer connects and interacts via CV in/out on modular synths. By joining the pulse, generated by the Pickup Leslee using wave in/wave out patch cable connectivity, it is possible to either send or receive a wave form or sending out a CV signal. It is even possible to do sync recording by using a CV to Midi generator, or to be in sync with video signals for performing artists. On top of this, the guitar is equipped with a behind bridge pickup, built in piezos in headstock and body, and a kill switch.
As each instrument is custom built, you can choose specific options based on your wishes and needs. Our basses can also be equipped with this feature.

The Deimel Firestar Artist Edition is our very hea

The Deimel Firestar Artist Edition is our very heartfelt guitar project that combines Frank’s guitar building with Kora’s art work. We build two artist editions per year based on our ideas or customer’s inquiry. Buildings slots are now open for 2023.

The outcome of each guitar might look like an easy going comic style, but it is much more complex: Each instrument starts with research and sketches made in pencil and ink. The guitar or bass itself serves as a three dimensional canvas and allows different types of story telling techniques within the theme. While Frank prepares the body and neck, Kora makes a huge collage. After she has applied everything on the woods, Frank takes care of it at the spray booth. For assembly we meet to talk about the choice of pickups Frank will make and the combination of pickguard material, knobs and switches. It is always a very exciting moment when all pieces come together, Frank proceeds with the assembly, and the „baby“ is plugged in for the first time.

By the way Kora holds an MFA in New Genres from @sfaiofficial and a Diploma in Visual Communications / Fine Arts from @hfbkhamburg . She has been researching in signs of imagery and political art for many years. Taking the artwork outside of the the gallery context has been a fruitful and enriching journey.
