A classic »vintage-like« feel and the the essence of two iconic guitar designs were the main originators for the creation of this all new Deimel Doublestar. The most favourite features have been taken to create a new but still »well known« feel of an electric guitar. Frank‘s love for vintage designs and his ability to built custom guitars have led him to develop this unique interpretation of »best of both worlds«.
»I love this body shape and I like the attack of a long scale. I prefer string through body bridges and a unique mixture of pickups. The ergonomic body shape like a S-style guitar supports easiest playing comfort.«
The Doublestar »Raw Tone« is designed as a L. P. style guitar with a glued in Mahogany neck and a maple veneered Mahogany body. The identical looking Doublestar »Bolt Tone« instead features a one piece Alder or Ash body with a bolt-on Maple neck.
By using the long scale neck a more accurate and tighter bass response is achieved. The string through body design provides a stronger pick attack and guarantees a rigid accoustic coupling. A classic electronic circuit routs the sensed tones through high quality passive parts and capacitors.
For getting the right amount of resistance Stellartone® 500/250 k Tandem pots are chosen as volume and tone pots. They let each pickup »see« their own right value of pot and capacitor. When mixed together an almost unheard melt of »two worlds« goes to your rig.
»Pure and raw as strings, wood, and coils can be. The Deimel Doublestar.«
The process of handcraft as well as the wishes of our customers are very important to us. So in order to realize your individual model, we have created a sheet with specifications and prices, where every single pre-calculated option can be decided on and cross-marked. So, starting on a regular standard prize you can make your individual choices with numberless combinations. Any color and personal pickup configuration can be realized. You choose your neck profile, fret wire, neck radiuses, etc.. Whatever you like, we are looking forward to realize an individual Doublestar guitar for you. Except for the body, pickguard, and headstock shape + logo placement, you are free to develop your own model.
Left handed? No problem!

Selecting Woods
Woods are selected by Frank individually for each guitar and customer choices. Our favorite woods for bodies are american red alder, white korina, swamp ash, and mahogany. The Deimel Doublestar can be built with an additional figured maple veneer.
Our preferred neck wood is maple if not requested differently by the customer.
For fretboards we prefer non CITES listed woods as ziricote or katalox. We also use indian rosewood as standard and offer many others.
Light Weight
It is important to us that the weight matches the customer needs. Since each guitar is built individually for the customer we can pick the perfect wood.

Deimel Doublestar Classic Colors
Excellent guitar design is also based on a great finish. As admirer of the 60ies design era, we love the original cadillac colors a lot. On the base of those, we have taken them a step further into the new millenium and developed the following Deimel colors as best fit for our Deimel Doublestars: »Saturn Lavender«, »Venus Fern Green«, »Moon Dust Blue«, and »Papermoon White«. Another standard is »Blackguard Blond« or, when a figured maple veneer is chosen, »Maple Honey«. Certainly we also offer all other colors or sunburst on request.
Neck Wood and Finishes
We build the Doublestar necks out of selected pieces of mahogany, white korina, or maple. For maple we offer 3 levels of figuration: normal, figured maple, or highly figured maple. Another choice is the matching headstock in the same color as the body varnish.

Deimel Doublestar Neck Shape
Our standard neck shape is »Medium fat 59 LP«, but can do any custom neck shapes.
MOP Dots
MOP (Mother of Pearl) dots are the classic standard for our fretboards. Other options are on request.
Deimel Doublestar Radius
Our fretboards always feature a compound radius starting with 9.5“ from the nut until 12“ at the end of the fretboard. As it is only logical in fretboard theory, that the cone shape is the basis for a tapered neck in opposite to a cylindrical surface, it is the better fretboard. This allows for perfect action, comfortable chording in the first frets, and easy to bend strings in the upper section.
Deimel Doublestar Frets
Each Deimel Doublestar comes with 22, Wagner medium jumbo, or 22, StewMac »pyramid« frets. We offer stainless steel frets on upcharge.
Custom Inlays
Some customers ask for personal inlays and we certainly can do this. In 2016 Frank had the chance to do a further education workshop with the legendary Grit Laskin in Vienna. We now know all the secrets of the perfect engravings and inlays.

We manufacture the nut out of unbleached bone. Other materials are on request.
